3 Days Left: De La Hoya – Mayweather Countdown!

LAS VEGAS, NV – In the final days leading up to what can potentially be the largest grossing boxing match in the history of the sport, Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. both arrived at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas yesterday afternoon to a crowd of media and fans who are both eagerly waiting for Saturday nights supermatch. Tickets sold out in less than three hours pulling in a record live gate of $19.3 million. Attracting the main stream media, both De La Hoya and Mayweather Jr. have recently appeared on Jay Leno and The Best Damn Sports Show respectively.

The HBO pay-per-view prediction is to break the record for all-time highest grossing fights. Current record is held by Holyfield-Tyson 2.
The World Awaits, and on Saturday night, the star-studded MGM Grand will be electric. Most boxing experts including the Las Vegas sports books are predicting a Mayweather victory. However, the betting line has narrowed as De La Hoya shows focus and determination to beat the younger and faster Mayweather.
