Diego Corrales (40-3, 33 KO’s) will bring everything he has when he defends his WBC Lightweight Title against Joel Casamayor (33-3-1, 21 KO’s) tomorrow night from The Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a rivalry that has excited fans, this third and final fight between these two sluggers will have the crowd in Mandalay Bay going crazy.

Corrales is coming off a disappointing cancelled fight against Jose Luis Castillo, after Castillo wouldn’t make the 135 pound weight limit. Rust could set in on Corrales who hasn’t fought a fight for about a year, a knockout lost to Castillo. But Castillo assures his fans and the boxing world that he has forgotten about the lost, and will show the world why he is considered one of the best Lightweights, and pound-for-pound, boxers to ever fight. Corrales is well aware of the crafty Casamayor. Their two previous fights have had Corrales knocked down a few times, twice in the first fight (which he lost), and once in the split decision victory he earned the second time. If history repeats itself, October hasn’t be too sweet month for Corrales, earning two of his defeats in the trick-or-treat time of the year.

Since his first victory over Corrales, Casamayor has had a very roller coaster type career. He lost the rematch against Corrales and, in the same year, lost to Jose Luis Castillo by split decision. History has shown that Casamayor struggled to pull out a “W” when a fight has gone the full distance. Look for Casamayor to come out very aggressive early, and try to earn the quick knockout victory, and leave the fight out of the judges’ hands.

Whichever way the fight goes, it should be very exciting. Make sure to tune into SHOWTIME FOR FREE tomorrow night live from Las Vegas, Nevada. The fight starts 10pm EST/7pm PST.

Touchgloves.com Prediction:
