Hatton vs. Collazo in Bean Town

Light Welterweight Champ Ricky Hatton`s road to American has been bumpy, but we finally have an opponent and place for his first fight on American Soil. Hatton (40-0, 30KO`s) will be moving up to the Welterweight division to fight WBA Welterweight champ Luis Collazo (26-1, 12KO`s).

Light Welterweight Champ Ricky Hatton`s road to American has been bumpy, but we finally have an opponent and place for his first fight on American Soil. Hatton (40-0, 30KO`s) will be moving up to the Welterweight division to fight WBA Welterweight champ Luis Collazo (26-1, 12KO`s).

Hatton first fight in America was scheduled to be held at Foxwood Resort in Connecticut. However, Team Hatton`s inability to name an opponent was one of the reasons the fight was moved. The fight will now take place in Boston at the TD Bank North Garden, formerly known as the Fleetcenter.

This is a very unique situation for Hatton. He as the opportunity to capture titles in two weightclasses, and further solifidy himself among boxing`s elite. Collazo, generally not known to the boxing masses, will be looking to make a statement in what some may argue is boxings best division. He recently made waves when he called out and signed contracts to fight all the top welterweights, including Floyd Maywehater, Arturo Gatti, Miguel Cotto, and Shane Mosley.

The fight is set. May 13th, Boston, MA. Hatton vs. Collazo for the WBA Welterweight Championship. Information on tickets will be up soon.
