Holyfield-Bates Ready To Fight on Fox

If the State of Texas will allow Evander Holyfield (35-8-2, 25 KO’s) to fight in the ring, then they’ll let anything happen. Holyfield will take on Jeremy Bates (21-11-1, 18 KO’s) this Friday night live from the American Airlines Arena in Dallas Texas. Make sure to avoid Fox Sports Net from 8pm on, unless you think it’s okay for a 43 year old man, who is already showing signs of brain damage, to get beaten up for 10 long rounds.

Holyfield use to be the King of the Heavyweight Division after defeating Mike Tyson twice back in June of ’97. But after a thrashing by Lennox Lewis, his career was all but over. An embarrassing loss to heavyweight slob John Ruiz in 2001, and recently three straight losses in his past three fights, seemed like the end for Holyfield. But, Holyfield feels that he can make one more big return to the Heavyweight Division. I can only hope that a possible lose will send Holyfield walking away from the ring forever.

Who the heck is Jeremy Bates? He’s what they call in the wrestling world a “jobber”. Unable to create a winning streak for the past 5 years, Bates can become a part of history. If successful, he will forever be known as the man who ended Holyfield’s career, so that alone should give him motivation to train his best and leave everything out in the ring tomorrow night.

Make sure to tune tomorrow night on Fox Sports Net live at 8pm for The Best Damn Sports Show sponsored Boxing Night!
