Klitschko-Brewster Matinee In Germany live on HBO

Los Angeles, CA (July 6th) – Wladimir Klitschko looks for revenge when he defends his IBF Heavyweight Championship title against former heavyweight champion Lamon Brewster tomorrow afternoon from the Cologne Arena in Cologne, Germany. In their first fight back in April of 2004, Brewster scored a fifth round knockout victory over Klitschko. After three years, Klitschko gets the rematch he’s been waiting for. HBO will televise the event live at 5pm ET/2pm ET, with a replay later that night at 10pm ET.

Klitschko (48-3, 43 KO’s) is considered among boxing fans and experts as the top heavyweight in the division. He’s been seemingly unstoppable since knocking out Chris Byrd over a year ago; successfully defending his title twice (both via knockout). But it’s his lost against Lamon Brewster that has haunted him for years.
Klitschko was in control in their first fight, knocking down the former WBO champion. Everything changed in the fifth round when Klitschko suddenly ran out of gas. After surviving a late flurry by Brewster in the final minute of the round, Klitschko fell down, had trouble getting back to his corner, which forced referee Robert Byrd to stop the fight. With a strong training team, a championship title around his waist, and an enormous about of confidence, Klitschko is ready to get rid of the demons that have haunted him for so many years.
Brewster (33-2, 29 KO’s) is recovering from eye surgery after a brutal unanimous decision loss to Sergei Liakhovich last April. The retina in Brewster’s left eye was detached in the first round and later required surgery. After a 15 month lay-off, Brewster is confident that his eye won’t be an issue in his fight tomorrow afternoon. “It feels perfect. It healed fine,” Brewster said.
With a victory over Klitschko, Brewster is the most confident fighter Wladimir Klitschko has ever faced. The pressure is on Klitschko to not only defend his title but to show that he is the dominant heavyweight experts have always expected him to be.
