Mayweather v. Pacquiao Almost Set for March 13th in Las Vegas

Negotiations between Pound-4-Pound king Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have heated up.  It appears that the terms of the contract have almost been finalized and the venue set for MGM Grand in Las Vegas.  Pacquiao is represented by Bob Arum’s Top Rank and Mayweather by Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.

The fight is to take place at 147lbs (welterweight).  Mayweather is demanding that the two fighters subject themselves to the US Anti-Doping Agency which overseas Olympic athletes.  The procedures would potentially open the fighters having their blood and urine randomly tested.  Theoretically, the fighters could have their blood drawn the day before the fight.  Such a request is unprecedented in boxing.  No fighter or fight has ever been subjected to the US Anti-Doping Agency drug testing.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. openly accused Pacquiao of using steroids earlier this year.
