Let`s get ready to rumble in cruise ship`s boxing ring

"Fight Klub" lets guests test their chops with a variety of boxing-related activities, including one-on-one training sessions with an experienced instructor inside a full-size Everlast boxing ring. Speed bags, jump ropes, heavy bags and padded punching mitts are also available.

Experienced boxers looking to hone their skills or novices wanting to try something new will be able to duke it out on a cruise ship — Royal Caribbean`s Freedom of the Seas, set to debut in May. "Fight Klub" lets guests test their chops with a variety of boxing-related activities, including one-on-one training sessions with an experienced instructor inside a full-size Everlast boxing ring. Speed bags, jump ropes, heavy bags and padded punching mitts are also available.Groups of three can take part in sparring sessions with freestanding body master bags, all supervised by an on-site boxing coach.Die-hard Rocky wannabes can also train in three one-hour sessions with a boxing coach, featuring a warm-up, bag work, mirror boxing, footwork and pad work.Holding 3,634 guests, double-occupancy, Freedom of the Seas will be the largest cruise ship in the world, sailing seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries from Miami.

WESTJET ADDS FLIGHTS: WestJet has introduced numerous schedule enhancements, including new non-stop routes and increased frequencies between cities across Canada. Included is new daily, non-stop service between Toronto and St. John`s beginning May 1, and new seasonal service between Toronto and Victoria, May 12 to Oct. 28.
GASTOWN GOES PREHISTORIC: More than 100 prehistoric fossils, including 11 complete dinosaur skeletons and two "live" dinosaurs, were recently unveiled in Gastown, Vancouver, at the opening of "Dinosaurs in Gastown," a new exhibition at Storyeum. Vancouver is one of only two stops for this exhibit in North America (the other was Montreal in 2005). For details, visit http://www.storyeum.com
JOIN THE CELEBRATION: It`s going to be hot, hot, hot at this year`s annual St. Maarten Carnival, from April 14 through May 2, with colourful costumed dancers, Caribbean cuisine and a six-kilometre parade through Philipsburg. True to the island`s dual-nation status, there are actually two carnivals a year. The one on the French side takes place during Lent, in the tradition of the French Creole Mas. The larger carnival is on the Dutch side, with the Grand Parade scheduled for April 30 to coincide with the birthday of Beatrix, Queen of the Netherlands.
