In what would likely be a mega-fight if it ever comes to fruition, touchgloves.com learned this morning that Joe Calzaghe (41-0-31 KO`s) who`s coming off of his annihilation of champion Jeff Lacy last week is preparing to face former pound-for-pound king Roy Jones Jr. (49-4-38 KOs) this July in America.
In what would likely be a mega-fight if it ever comes to fruition, touchgloves.com learned this morning that Joe Calzaghe (41-0-31 KO`s) who`s coming off of his annihilation of champion Jeff Lacy last week is preparing to face former pound-for-pound king Roy Jones Jr. (49-4-38 KOs).
Calzaghe is on cloud-9 after his victory over Lacy and is ready to come to America and face top challengers. Once champion in four different weight divisions, Jones Jr. has suffered defeats in his last three consecutive fights, two which came by way of extreme knock-out.
In his last bout against current light heavy weight chamption Antonio Tarver, Roy Jones Jr. failed to put together the movement and combinations that highlight his career. Jones Jr. who is now clearly over his prime and on his way out, would be an ideal opponent for Calzaghe who is on his way up.
