De la Hoya can`t afford to lose this fight. He will walk around in shame throughout his entire retirement years and will have to look over his shoulder and wonder if a Nicaragua fight fan is laughing behind his back. Oscar has lost too many high profile fights in the last few years and it has stained his legacy. A dominant win against Mayorga will only help us forget some of his recent loses and start concentrating on more dominant performances.
If Oscar hates Mayorga as much as he states, he should try to get inside, box him and go to his body in the hopes of wearing him out by the sixth round. Then he should then look for a knockout punch and continue to punish Mayorga until he has no choice but to quit.
