Juarez-Barrera Look To Avoid Controversy In Rematch!

The last time WBC Super Featherweight Champion Marco Antonio Barrera (62-4, 42 KO’s) and Rocky Juarez (25-2, 18 KO’s) we’re in the same ring, the crowd inside Staples Center were treated to a back in forth “too close to call” fight that eventually ended in a victory for Barrera, reversing an earlier decision of a draw. This time Barrera hopes to avoid any controversy and defeat Juarez cleanly. But don’t look for Juarez to lie down so easily; he looks to take advantage of this rematch and to become Champion of the World. The crowd inside the MGM Grand Arena will be rocking tomorrow night!

Barrera is considered one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world. The pride of Mexico, Barrera has solidified himself as a world class boxer with victories over other top notch fighters, such as Erik Morales (twice), Paula Ayala, and Robby Peden. Everybody knows that a little controversy can tarnish a career, and after a judge’s mistake, and change of the scorecard, Barrera found himself backed into a corner, with nothing else to do, but grant Juarez a rematch. A champion in three different weight classes, Barrera looks to add another win to his remarkable record.

Juarez, the 2000 Olympic Silver Medalist, is not afraid to stand toe-to-toe with any fighter and slug it out for 12 rounds. With speed, power, confidence and aggressiveness, Juarez has the tools to step into the ring with Barrera and leave the ring as a champion. Many boxing fans felt that he had won the first fight, so look for the crowd to be on his side as he hopes to make his mark in the boxing world.

Don’t forget to tune in tomorrow at 9pm EST on HBO PPV live from Las Vegas, Nevada!
