Quick Hits: Rahman, Abraham, Arce, Contender Finale Tomorrow Night!

Hasim Rahman’s last fight against Oleg Maskaev may have been the most disappointing defeat of his career, but that’s not going to stop “Rock” from becoming Heavyweight Champion for the third time. Rahman is rumored to fight Sinan Samil Sam early next year in a possible heavyweight title eliminator match. It’s been undetermined which title Rahman will be going after.

IBF Middleweight Champion Arthur Abraham defeated Edison Miranda Saturday Night in Germany. In a fight, that could win “Fight of the Year”, Abraham earned a unanimous decision victory to retain his title. After the fight, Abraham was taken to a nearby hospital, where he had surgery to repair a broken jaw he suffered during the fight.

Jorge Arce defeated Masibuele Makepula Saturday night from Hidalgo, TX. After a slow first two round, Arce turned it around, pummeling Makepula in the third, and eventually knocking him down in the fourth, with referee stopping the fight shortly after. This was Arce’s 8th straight knockout victory.

Make sure to tune in tomorrow night at 10pm EST to watch the finale of “The Contender”. Grady Brewer will take on Steve Forbes in what is expected to be a very exciting fight.
