Boxing fans will be treated Saturday night on HBO when England’s Joe Calzaghe (41-0. 31 KO’s) defends his IBF and WBO Super Middleweight Titles against Australia’s Sakio Bika (21-1-2, 13 KO`s). The fight, which will be held in Manchester City, England, will be televised through on HBO: Boxing After Dark.

Calzaghe is currently the longest reigning champion in boxing, successfully defending his title for the last 9 years. His last defense was an obliteration of former undefeated Super Middleweight Champion Jeff Lacy. At the time, Lacy was thought to be the only fighter who could defeated Jeff Lacy and bring the IBF title to the United States. Once again, another European proved us all wrong, and showed us the recent domination of European boxing.

Bika last fight resulted in a draw against WBC Super Middleweight Markus Beyer. The fight was stopped due to a cut under Beyer’s eye and the fight resulted in a draw. The fight may have ended short, but Bika gained some valuable experience and understood the pressure that comes with being part of a big time championship fight.

Make sure to tune into HBO: Boxing After Dark tomorrow night at 11pm!

Touchgloves.com Prediction:

Farz B: Both fighters have knockout power, so 1 punch could end it at anytime. In the end, I think Calzaghe will be too much for Sika to handle. Calzaghe KO 9.
