Hatton-Castillo To Fight For IBO Title!

Ricky Hatton recently dropped his IBF LIght Welterweight title so that he could take on Jose Luis Castillo. Fortunently, both fighters have a little more to fight for, than pride, once again. Today, the IBO announced that their vacant Light Welterweight title will be on the line when the two fighters battle June 23rd from Las Vegas, Nevada. Though it`s not a part of the big four titles out there, holding any world title is an honor to have.

Briggs-Ibragimov Fight Delayed!

Shannons Briggs first title defense of his WBO Heavyweight championship will have to wait. Briggs has been diagnosed with pnuemonia and will have to push back his defense for the next 3 months. The fight, which was slated to take place in Madison Square Garden, could hold up a possibility of a unification fight between the winner between the two rumored to fight Wladimir Klitschko later this year.

Cotto-Judah In June?

Rumors are spreading that Miguel Cotto and Zab Judah will meet in June to fight for Cotto`s WBA Welterweight Title. The fight is slated to take place in New York at Madison Square Garden on June 9th.

It was originally planned for WBO Champ Antonio Margarito and Cotto to fight, but Margarito chose to fight mandatory challenger Paul Williams instead.

Hopkins One Step Closer To Return!

At last night`s Mosley-Collazo press conference, Bernard Hopkins announced that he has signed his part of the deal to fight Winky Wright on July 21st. All that awaits is Wright`s signature on the dotted line. The fight, which is likely to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, is rumored to be shown on HBO PPV.

Mosley And Collazo Square Off Tonight!

Hatton Drops IBF Title!

Ricky Hatton has decided to drop his newly crowned IBF LIght Welterweight title rather than fight #1 contender Lovemore N`Dou, according to Hatton`s management. Hatton and Jose Luis Castillo were set to fight in June for the title, but after N`Dou won his elimination fight, N`Dou`s management demanded that Hatton skip the fight with Castillo.

As reported earlier, a fight with Castillo has been planned for months and is a bigger sell to both HBO and American fight fans. It is also financially smarter for Hatton to go with a Hatton-Castillo fight, rather than a Hatton-N`Dou.

Margarito-Williams To Fight!

Antonio Margarito`s manager Francisco Espinoza has stated that Margarito, the WBO Welterweight Champion, will take on Paul WIlliams in the upcoming months. It had initially been reported that Margarito would take on Miguel Cotto after Cotto`s fight with Oktay Urkal in March. Margarito would have been stripped of his title if he had avoided his mandatory fight with Williams.

Look for the winners of each seperate bout to fight in June or October for both the WBA and WBO titles.

Pacquiao, Arce, Chavez Jr Headline card in Texas

Macau will have to wait for the worlds most exciting boxer. Manny Pacquiao will be taking on his next opponent April 21st from the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. An opponent has yet to be named. Pacquiao (43-3-2, 34KO`s) comes into the bout after his 3rd round stoppage of Mexican legend Erik Morales.

Breaking news: Omar Nino Stripped of Title, Brian Viloria to fight for Vacant title

WBC Light featherweight champion Omar Nino was stripped of his title after failing a drug test following his disputed draw over Brian Viloria. Nino was stripped of his title after testing positive for methamphetamines.
