Mosley And Collazo Square Off Tonight!

Shane Mosley looks to continue his way back atop the boxing world when he takes on Luis Collazo tonight from Las Vegas, Nevada on HBO. Mosley (43-4, 37 KO’s) is coming off a successful 2006 campaign, earning back-to-back knockout victories against Fernando Vargas. Collazo looks to put a big nail in the coffin of Mosley’s luxurious boxing career.

Mosley burst onto the boxing scene when he won the IBF Lightweight title, defeating a then undefeated, a successful, Phillip Holiday. But after suffering two straight losses to Winky Wright, many experts felt that Mosley’s career was all but finished. It’s funny what a big victory can do, and now Mosley looks to continue his path back to championship glory tonight and win the WBC Welterweight Title. A win tonight could set up to take on IBF Welterweight champion Kermit Cintron, and eventually take on Miguel Cotto or pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. in early 2008.

Luis Collazo is a young kid with a lot to win. Collazo (27-2, 13 KO’s) is mainly known for going toe-to-toe with Ricky Hatton back in May of 2005. Besides the fight with Hatton, Collazo hasn’t big in any other big fights, until tonight. A win could also set Collazo up with a shot against Kermit Cintron later this year. If he could avoid Mosley’s left hook, and control the fight early, and put the 37 year old Mosley’s stamina’s to the test, he could walk away with a shocking victory.

Make sure to tune in tonight at 9:45pm EST/6:45pm PST live on HBO from the Mandalay Bay Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Touchgloves.com prediction:

Farz B. – I think Mosley’s experience will be too much for the young Collazo. Prediction: Mosley by 7th round TKO.

Reza: Mosley 4th round knockout!
