Quick Hits: Marquez-Barrera II, Corrales, Gatti, And More!

Two days after their epic fight, Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez are just about set to go at it again. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is already speaking of a rematch between the two great Mexican Warriors on September 16th date, Mexico's Independence Day. Las Vegas has been mentioned as the site for the rematch. Barrera has yet to agree on terms, but Marquez is already agreed to give the Baby Faced Assassin a rematch.

- Diego Corrales is all set to go for his Welterweight debut against Joshua Clottey April 7th from Springfield, Missouri. Clottey is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Antonio Margarito last December, a fight in which he could have won if he hadn't injured his hand. Corrales lost to Joel Casamayor in October in a terrible and sluggish performance which included failing to make weight. Corrales is moving up two weight divisions for this fight so it should be interesting to see if Diego can handle the new punching power the welterweight division has to offer.

- Arturo Gatti's rumored final fight could keep in him boxing longer than expected. Word is spreading is that IBF Welterweight Champion Kermit Cintron will be Gatti's "final" opponent. A June or July summer fight in Atlantic City, New Jersey is just about all but final. This is interesting news, since it was also rumored that Shane Mosley would be taking on the IBF Welterweight champ later this year.. Whoever Gatti fights, I'm sure he'll look to go out with a bang!

- Speaking of Shane Mosley, reports are spreading that Mosley is looking to fight the winner of the Antonio Margarito-Paul Williams fight. This comes after HBO axed the idea of a Mosley-Baldomir fight for July. Mosley is also looking to fight Kermit Cintron, mentioned above, this summer as well.

- Looks like Cory Spinks will be the new opponent for Middleweight Champion Jermain Taylor. It was reported earlier than Sergio Mora backed out of the fight after expressing his unhappiness of fighting in Memphis, Tennessee. Spinks, the IBF Light Middleweight Champion, will be moving up in weight from 154 to 160. When is Taylor going to fight a worthy opponent?

More news as we hear it!
