The Big Bang Theory goes off the drawing board and into the ring with "X-PLOSIVE!" -- the world welterweight championship featuring undefeated World Boxing Association champion MIGUEL COTTO, the pride of Puerto Rico, defending his title against two-division world champion ZAB "SUPER" JUDAH. Promoted by Top Rank, in association with Prize Fight Boxing, "X-PLOSIVE!" will take place Saturday, June 9 at Madison Square Garden and broadcast live on HBO Pay-Per-View.
Last Saturday we witnessed two fights. Both lived up to the hype. Kelly Pavlik and Edison Miranda bombed away at each other for seven rounds. Pavlik came away with an impressive knockout victory. In the main event, Jermain Taylor and Cory Spinks danced circles around each other for twelve rounds. Spinks jabbed, jabbed, threw a left hook, and jabbed some more. Taylor did nothing. In the end, Taylor “earned” a narrow split decision victory. In the same night boxing fans rejoiced and boxing fans criticized. There is one man to thank and blame for all last Saturday’s HBO boxing card: Jermain Taylor.

NEW YORK, NY (May 24, 2007) – World Middleweight Champion Jermain Taylor remains on the top of undefeated middleweight contender Giovanni Lorenzo’s wish list, but there is another fighter that he would like to challenge: Kelly Pavlik.
Los Angeles, CA, May 24 - The big Cinco de Mayo bout has past. De La Hoya vs. Mayweather 24/7 on HBO has come and gone. The fight to save boxing is over. The Mayweather's are now the first family of boxing, sorry Klitschko's. Roger Mayweather's showing on HBO has put that family over the top. The fight has fans split. Boxing purists loved the way it represented the sweet science. Two superior athletes battled and manuevered around each other. They love the ballet aspect of their sport. A more casual fan, me for instance, may have hoped for a Ward-Gatti style, knockdown, drag-out affair and unfortunately they did not get that. The casual fan was looking for more and in my opinion the fight did not deliver. A purist of the sort will never say that was a bad fight. You should stand by the sport you love or hobby or TV show you love. Married with Children fans stuck around after the Seven fiasco showing the type of loyalty that fight fans show to the sport they love. It was a good fight, but did not match the hype or the expectations. That is where the problem is.

"What a fight. What a fight." Those words will be heard all around the country. Kelly "The Ghost Pavlik (31-0, 28KO) scored a 7th round stoppage against Edison Miranda (28-2, 24KO) in a electric bout which featured both fighters going toe to toe from the opening bell. With the amazing performance, Pavlik has sent a message to the middleweight division that he is a force to be reckoned with.
- In a boring, slow, unexciting snoozer, Jermain Taylor (27-0-1, 17KO's) and Cory Spinks danced around the ring for 12 rounds. Spinks (36-4, 11KO's), methodically walked circles around Taylor from the opening bell, but threw double and triple the amount of punches as Taylor. Jermain looked out of the fight from the onset. His mind may have been on Kelly Pavlik and his massacre of Edison Miranda.
Jermain Taylor defends his WBC and WBO Middleweight titles tonight when he takes on former Light Middleweight Champion Cory Spinks live from the Fedex Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Spinks is a replacement for “Contender” Champion Sergio Mora after Mora backed out of the fight after becoming unhappy with the location of the fight.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The chairman of the HBO cable television network was arrested in Las Vegas on Sunday on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Police officers saw Chris Albrecht engaged in a "physical confrontation" in the valet parking area outside the MGM Grand hotel shortly after 3 a.m. PDT (1000 GMT), Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Bill Cassell told the newspaper.
Hours after the mega-fight, Oscar De La Hoya and Mayweather were already talking rematch. Mayweather said "If the fans demand a rematch, what can I say. I don't know what the future holds for Floyd Mayweather. As of now I'm retired, but I have to talk it over with my team and see what they say."
De La Hoya then said, "I don't feel like a loser... We'll have to go back to the drawing board. Would I fight him again? Sure. But we have to sit down and figure that out. Once I go back and sit down and think about it I will know."
Would the world await to see this rematch?
