ESPN2 Friday Night Fights: Results from Staten Island

- In front of over 25 New York Jets, Darnell "Ding-a-ling Man" Wilson (22-5-3, 19KO's) knocked out Emmanuel Nwodo (21-4, 17KO's) with a left hook in the 11th round. Both fighters were cut after a clash of heads in the 2nd round. In the final seconds of the 3rd round, Wilson landed a devastating left hook that send Nwodo crumbling to the floor. In between round 4 and 5, Nwodo complained about his vision, telling his cornermen, "I swear I cannot see". Wilson's production decreased dramatically in the middle rounds, allowing Nwodo to take advantage. However in the 10th round, like a flash of lighting Wilson landed a monster 2-punch combo that nearly knock Nwodo's head off. Nwodo recovered and was able to survive the round.

In an unforgettable 1th round, Darnell Wilson and Emmanuel Nwodo went toe to toe, with Wilson landing some of the hardest shots in recent memory, culminating with a walloping left that knocked Nwodo out cold and ended the match. With his win, Wilson should now be considered as a threat in the Cruiserweight divsion.

- In the Opening televised bout, Cruiserweight prospect Chuck Cavallo (16-0, 6KO's) defeated Marlon Hayes (23-8, 11KO's) with a sloppy but very exciting unanimous decision. Cavallo had a rough start against the slick Hayes, but was able to adjust and land numerous big shots to the head of Hayes in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. After the first round, Hayes seemed to be more inclined to run and dance than actually fight. Judges at ringside scored the fight 79-72, 79-73, 79-73, all in favor of Cavallo

Judge Dismisses claims against Main Events!

The Honorable Harriett Klein, Chancery Division Judge sitting in Newark, New Jersey, has dismissed claims of tortious interference brought by Bobby Bostick Promotions against Main Events.

Judge Klein ruled that the actions alleged by Bostick to have been taken by Main Events with respect to IBF Welterweight Champion Kermit Cintron were “absolutely privileged” and dismissed Bostick’s complaint against Main Events “in its entirety.”

Bostick had claimed in the litigation that Main Events had interfered with Bostick’s alleged contract rights to Cintron by sending a pre-litigation letter and claiming in a complaint filed with the Court that Bostick had interfered with its pre-existing contract rights.

Cintron is, in turn, suing Bostick claiming, among other things, that Bostick breached its obligation to him and did not pay him substantial monies claimed due.
