Mayweather KO's Hatton!

Floyd "Money" Mayweather scored a sensational 10th round KO over British boxing warrior Ricky Hatton tonight in Las Vegas. Hatton (43-1, 31KO's) came out strong from the opening bell, never taking a step back. Although he seemed to be backing away most of the fight, Mayweather (39-0, 25KO's) was able to land the cleaner and effective punches throughout the fight. Referee Joe Cortez, who is one of the most respectable referees in the game, had a hard time with the fighters, as most of the action took place in close quarters.

Hatton had a point taken away in the 6th for hitting behind the head. As the fight wore on, Hatton began to tire. The 8th round proved to be a signature Mayweather round as he used his vast arsenal of weapons to punish the gritty Brit.

In the 10th, Mayweather landed what can only be described as the perfect left hook that sent Hatton to the floor. Hatton, showing that his heart was bigger than his head, got up only to be sent to the mat a few second later. Joe Cortez stopped the fight at 1:35 just as Hatton's corner threw in the towel.

The blind judges at ringside had the fight scored 88-81, 88-81, 88-82 all in favor of Mayweather. But Mayweather will be the first to tell you that tonight was the most difficult fight of his career.
