Paul Williams (34-1, 25 KOs) lived up to his nickname and destroyed Puerto Rican slugger Carlos Quintana (25-2, 19 KOs) by KO in the 1st round of their rematch. Williams dropped Quintana twice with a flurry of punches, forcing the referee to stop the match. After the bout, the usually reserved Williams called out the Welterweight elite, including Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito. Time of the bout was 2:15 of the first round.

Hatton Wins, Malignaggi Gets the Decision

They say good news come in bunches and the good news keeps coming for the city of Manchester, England. First, Manchester United won the Champons League on Wednesday, and tonight Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton returned to the ring and the victory circle after a tough and very Hattonesqe victory over Juan Lazcano. Hatton (44-1, 34KO's) worked Luzcano's body and head with his trademark left and right hooks. Lazcano (37-5-1, 27 KO's) for his part, put up a great fight, almost sending the British Sensation to the canvas in the 8th and 10th round. Although not as sharp as he wanted, Hatton showed the boxing world that he has moved past his loss at the hands of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Judges at ringside scored the bout 120-110, 118-110, and 120-108 all for Hatton.

- Paulie Malignaggi (25-1, 5KO's) escaped Manchester with a unsatisfying win again Lovemore N'dou, but not his hair. Malignaggi claims to have broken his right hand in the 6th round, hand a hard time dealing with the rough and rugged N'dou. The fight did little to help Malignaggi shed the mask of being a boring fighter. The most interesting part of the bout came in the middle of rounds 8 and 9 where Malignaggi had his dreadlocks cut by his corner men.

Golden Boy Returns Against Forbes

Los Angeles, CA - The Golden Boy Oscar de la Hoya returns to the ring on May 3, 2008, after his split decision loss to Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. last year. De la Hoya will take on former Contender star, Steve Forbes. The venue is the Home Depot Center in Carson California, but it is the first time that a boxing match will be held in the 27,000 seat soccer stadium rather than the normal tennis facility at the Home Depot Center.

The Golden Boy is currently a -1800 favorite while most believe that Forbes has very little chance of pulling out an upset. Greater upsets have been seen in the past. If de la Hoya gets past Forbes in May, a rematch with Money Mayweather is expected in September.
