Javier Mora to replace Briggs
Young Heavyweight prospect Javier Mora has stepped in for injured Shannon Briggs and will face Sultan Ibragimov March 10th in New York. Mora (21-3-1, 17 KO’s) will be looking to take advantage of his opportunity to make waves in the Heavyweight division. This will definitely be a step up for Mora as his last two fight were against virtual no names. Ibragimov (19-0-1, 16KO’s) certainly has to be disappointed with Briggs’ injury, but must be careful not to take Mora and his punching power lightly.

Holyfield’s Statement Regarding Steroids
BLOOMFIELD, NJ – Four-time world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield has released the following response to allegations linking him to a steroid investigation:
“I do not use steroids. I have never used steroids. I resent that my name has been linked to known steroid users by sources who refuse to be identified in order to generate publicity for their investigation. I’m disappointed that certain members of the media fell for this ploy and chose to use my name in headlines and publish my photo alongside stories in today’s newspaper about an investigation into a practice that has nothing to do with me or what I stand for.”
Who’s Next In Line For The P4P Title?
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is considered the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. His record is flawless, he dominates and controls his fights, and, what I think is most important, he’s never been knocked down. The old saying goes, “To be the man, you gotta beat the man.” I’m sure most fans and experts wouldn’t put Oscar De La Hoya on the top of the P4P list if he defeated Mayweather Jr. May 5th, and since Floyd is “retiring” after May 5th, it’s time to start looking for a new king to be crowned.
What’s wrong with Boxing?
“The boxing world is full of all kinds of corruption.” – Al Sharpton
Al Sharpton’s quote is the biggest problem boxing faces today. As a common fan asked to voice my opinion on the state of boxing today I can’t help but agree with the sentiment of Sharpton’s statement. By no means is Al Sharpton an expert. I would say I am also far from a boxing expert but I have been asked to answer the question for fans; what do I see wrong with the sport? Why is boxing not as prevalent as it once was? What is it that fans are missing and why have they left boxing? Is boxing stronger than ever and I just don’t realize it? I doubt it but it is possible.
