Mayweather, Baldomir Both Make Weight

We`re happy to report that both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Carlos Baldomir both made the 147 weight limit for their fight tomorrow night. Mayweather Jr. weighed in at 146 pounds, while Baldomir weighed in at 147. The concern was over Baldomir making weight, who needed to lose 6.25 pounds within a week.

Jones Jr.-Siaca Jr To Fight!

Roy Jones Jr. has found his next opponent! He will take on Manny Siaca Jr. (20-6, 18 KO’s) on December 9th from the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania. Titled as the “Liberty Brawl”, the fight will be shown live on PPV for the small price of $24.95. Jones will be defending his NABO Light Heavyweight Title, with the vacant IBA title also up for grabs. Tickets will go on sale Nov. 4th at http://www.ComCastTIX.com. Former heavyweight champion Trevor Berbick found dead

KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — Former heavyweight champion Trevor Berbick was found dead in a church courtyard Saturday with chop wounds to his head in a suspected homicide.

Police have arrested a man and were interrogating him at the Port Antonio police station in Portland, Constable Sheldon Francis said.

Mike Tyson Returns To The Ring Tonight!

Mike Tyson returns to the ring in the first of many exhibition fights tonight from the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio. Tyson will take on Cory “T-Rex” Sanders live on pay-per-view at 7:30pm in a four round exhibition fight.

Mike Tyson Future World Tour Schedule

After he finishes up with his match tomorrow night in Youngstown, Ohio, look for former world champ Mike Tyson to fight November 11th in Norfolk, Virginia, according to his management. Then he’s off to California for a Nov. 25th fight in either Los Angeles or San Diego. From there a possible fight in Florida, around the time of the Super Bowl, is in the works. By summer Tyson will have fights set up in South Africa, Croatia and Russia.

Calzaghe Makes 19th Successful Title Defense

MANCHESTER, England — Joe Calzaghe survived a cut in the fourth round Saturday night to capture a unanimous decision over Sakio Bika and keep his IBF and WBO super middleweight titles.

The victory extended Calzaghe`s unbeaten record to 42-0 with his 19th successful defense of his WBO title, which he has held for nine years, and the first defense of the IBF crown he took from Jeff Lacy in March.

A Champion In Boxing, A Hero To A Country

As I’m making the drive to the “WildCard Boxing Club” I started to think of which questions I should ask Manny, how he’ll respond, and do I dare ask about his Golden Boy Deal? The drive is about twenty minutes from the touchgloves.com offices, but that’s before bothering to figure in the L.A. traffic I’m about to endure. As I make the exit off the freeway, off to the side, up in the hills, I see the world famous “HOLLYWOOD” sign. It’s fitting that a man who came from nothing is training in the city where they say dreams come true.

Late Night Treat On HBO

Boxing fans will be treated Saturday night on HBO when England’s Joe Calzaghe (41-0, 31 KO’s) defends his IBF and WBO Super Middleweight Titles against Australia’s Sakio Bika (21-1-2, 13 KO`s). The fight, which will be held in Manchester City, England, will be televised through on HBO: Boxing After Dark.
