Quick Hits: Holyfield’s Next Fight, Winky Wright, Valuev, and More…

Look for Ronald “Winky” Wright to step back into the ring sometime in the late fall/early winter. No opponent has been named, with Las Vegas, Nevada as the rumored location for his next fight.


-It looks like Evander Holyfield may get the Top 10 fighter he’s looking for. It is rumored that Holyfield is looking to challenge Turkish Heavyweight Sinan Samil Sam sometime in November. Samil Sam is currently ranked #5 by the World Boxing Council, WBC. The fight is rumored to take place overseas.

-It was previously reported that WBA Heavyweight Champ Nikolav Valuev would fight Monte Barrett in New York, but the site of the fight has been moved to Chicago.

- It is rumored that Low Blow King Andrew Golota was schedule to fight Mike Tyson conqueror Kevin McBride on the undercard of the Valuev Fight. This comes as no surprise, since Chicago is known to have a strong contingent of Polish immigrants (Golota is Polish).
