If you blinked, you may have missed it. Quintin ‘Rampage’ Jackson knockout out Chuck ‘the iceman’ Liddell to capture the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. After a slow first minute that saw both men sizing each other up, Jackson landed a huge overhand right that sent Chuck sprawling to the floor. Liddell was left helpless on the floor as Jackson jumped on him to land a flurry of punches before referee John McCarthy stepped in the stop the fight.
In the much anticipated UFC 71 Main Event, Quinten Rampage Jackson needed only a right hook to knock-down the Light Heavyweight Champion Iceman Chuck Liddell.
At one point, Rampage looked frustrated and signaled to Liddell to bring it to him, rather than move around the Octagon. Liddell finally came in throwing a combination which missed and was countered by a huge right hook which landed flush on Liddell’s chin sending him to the ground.
Rampage took advantage of the rare opportunity to knock Liddell out. Rampage used his impressive punching power and landed several more shots to Liddell’s head seeming knocking him out and bringing him back as famed UFC referee Big John McCarthy jumped in to stop the fight at 1:53 of the first round.
