The challenges each amateur boxer has to face on their way to the Olympic games, the training, preparations, sacrifices and mental stress are hardly exposed. Recently, the USA Amateur boxing program has faced severe set-backs. With the lack of funds, proper organization, leadership and community support, our future champions are finding it more difficult to obtain the tools, training and funds to train and compete. The editors at touchgloves.com hope to introduce you to our future champions. We will join elite amateur boxers during their journey to the 2008 Olympics. touchgloves.com contributors will follow these boxers through local tournaments, training sessions, interviews and bring you candid thoughts of these bright young stars.
For many young athletes, the chance to participate in the Olympic games is a dream come true. It is a platform for celebration and creativity, culture and diversity.
